Cub Scout Pack 377 welcomes boys and girls in grades 1-5 if they live in Belmont.
Our Cub Scouting program runs from September to June.
For organizational and program details, please join us at any pack meeting.
The Annual Kick-Off Event is always scheduled for the Sunday immediately following Labor Day from 2:00 - 4:00PM
Next Kick-Off Event known as our "Soda Bottle Rocket Launch" is scheduled for Sunday September 6, 2026 from 2-4PM location released in August 2026
All Pack 377 events are open to the cub's siblings. Additionally, each Den meets once or twice monthly to work on rank badge activities. The dens meeting aren't shown on the pack-website calendar. Contact your Den Leader for your particular den's schedule.
Pack 377 follows the Scouting America program.
The Pack accepts children who live in Belmont in grades 1-5.
Our pack is open to families without regard to color, race, religion, ethnic background, disability, sexual orientation, or economic status.
Our program runs from September through early June. Activities include pack meetings, den meetings, the Pine Wood Derby. three community service projects, and camping at Scouting America camps and other overnights.
In cub scouting terminology, a Pack consists of all kids in grades 1 through 5. The pack is further divided into Dens for each grade. Each Den has about 6-14 kids. Last year, we had a total of about 35 cubs in our pack.
Girls and boys will officially be in separate Dens (as this is a BSA requirement); however, we expect the dens of the same age group to run many parts of the program together.
1st grade: Tigers
2nd grade: Wolves
3rd grade: Bears
4th grade: Webelos
5th grade: Arrow of Light
The pack operates with the help of all the parents. Parental involvement is a big part of pack life. One of the reasons we have been so sucessfull throughout the years is from parents helping out. From Cubmaster to running a den meeting, it's all about "Doing your Best". Also note: this is not a "drop off and pick up" activity. We ask to have a parent or "responsible adult" present at all of our activities and meetings.
We encourage parents to volunteer for pack level positions to lead a Den or help organize an activity. Scouting America has made this program easy for non-scouters.
The pack starts the program in September each year.
We will conduct our regular pack business which will include:
opening ceremony,
recognition awards (for accomplishments achieved)
observances
Annual events such as the Pine Wood Derby race will be held by allowing dens to meet at predetermined times to minimize group size.
All meetings will be carefully planned by the respective den leaders in charge of the meeting for that month.
Dens meet once or twice a month depending on age. The purpose of a den meeting is to work on rank requirements which are clearly laid out in the Scouting America program. Tiger dens might go to the police or fire station while the AOL den works on their whittling badge or visits a Select Board meeting to better understand our system of local government.
We schedule three public service projects annually.
Fall - Camping at Base Camp, Milton, MA
Spring - Overnight at Plymouth Plantation, Battleship Cove, or another location.
Membership fees for school year 2025-26 is approximately $250 / scout plus uniform (Approx $125 if you take the discount during the registration process). The price listed above includes BSA membership, the New England Council Adventure Card (gives discounts to council activities), covers pack meeting activities, and rank & adventure badges and awards.
Den activities are extra. This is often a small amount per meeting to cover actual costs (materials, entrance fees, etc.)
Overnights are extra. Costs vary from ~$45 for an adult + cub at New England Base Camp, to $80 per person for some of the externally organized overnights. These events are optional.
You will be required to purchase a cub scout uniform for your cub. Before you do so, please talk to our Pack Leadership to understand which parts are required, and which parts are optional.
In case of documented financial hardship, we may be able to waive part or all of the membership fee on a case by case basis. Please contact the Cubmaster for a confidential consultation.
