Organization Leaders

Functional Descriptions

Here is a short description of what each function entails. Each function generally rotates on a 2 years basis. This means, that we are always looking for people who can help out. Most functions don't take much time at all! Please contact us if you are able to help!

• Pack Committee -- our pack "advisory" board, which consists of long-time scout members who provide guidance and share their experience.

• Cubmaster -- the leader of our pack who helps planning the pack program and meetings

• Den Leaders -- the leaders of the Cub Scout dens, where most of the weekly activities and work towards advancement occurs. They will do most of the communication with the cubs and the parents and organize weekly meetings with their Den.

• Pack Manager -- the person that keeps us all honest and organized. (S)he moderates the Den/Pack Leaders meetings and coordinates the awards and recognitions

• Treasurer -- runs the finances for our pack

• Overnight Coordinator -- coordinates overnight trips. Most of these overnight trips are externally organized programs, where this person's task is to coordinate and communicate with the campsite, museum, or other organization in charge of the larger overnight program

• Registrar -- Ensures all youth and adult members of Pack 377 are properly registered with the Pack and with the BSA; ensures that the adult members are trained appropriately for their position (including YPT and positional training)

• Social and Communications Manager -- maintains contact with the scouts and parents via the website, Facebook, email, and other media; submits pictures and short write-ups to local online and print media regarding pack and den activities

• Recruitment Manager -- Helps recruit new cubs into the pack, especially new Tigers around the beginning of the year

• Community Service Liaison -- Organizes and coordinates community service events, like Toys for Tots, Scouting for Food, etc.

• Pinewood Derby Master -- Organizes and runs our annual Pinewood Derby, where cub scouts build their own car out of pine and race them against each other.

• Chartered Organization Liaison -- Person who interfaces between Pack 377 and the Chartered Organization, in our case the Winn Brook School PTA
