Pack 377 Camping Rules
Camping in Pack 377 is a family event. We go to Camping America Registered Camps. They are geared towards Cub Scouts and Older scouts and offer excellent age appropriate activities for each age group. Please read below for rules own pack follows in addition to Scouting America rules which can be found at the link below.
Cub Scout youth may tent with a parent or guardian and siblings as outlined in Scouting America's - Scouting’s Barriers to Abuse.
As with all scouting activities, Lion Cub Scouts and Tiger Cub Scouts must have their parents present to take part in overnight camping.
For all other ranks: only in exceptional circumstances, a Cub Scout whose parent or legal guardian cannot attend a unit overnight camping trip may participate under the supervision of another adult who is a Registered Adult Member in the Scouting America organization and who is a parent of a Cub Scout who is also attending. The unit leader and the parent or legal guardian must agree to the arrangement, and all Youth Protection policies apply. At no time may another adult accept responsibility for more than one additional “non-family member” youth.
Regarding point #1: This year's YPT training also specifically notes that non-parents are NOT allowed to tent with a scout. If questions arise regarding whether the scout could tent with an uncle or a grandfather, our pack rule is no.
Regarding point #3: The historical policy for Pack 377 is to require that a parent be present on Cub Scout camping trips.
